Riga Planning Region (RPR), Latvia is a public body supervised by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development. RPR ensures regional development planning, coordination, and cooperation between local governments and other public authorities, dialogue and involvement of regional stakeholders. The decision-making body of RPR is the Riga Planning Region Development Council (RPRAP) consisting of the heads of 9 municipalities constituting the planning region, the capital of Riga including. RPR implements and coordinates regional development projects in following competence areas: spatial planning, transport and mobility, energy efficiency ecosystem development, entrepreneurship, tourism and regional marketing.
