The Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP)® is an independent, global NGO with a mission of advancing policy innovation and thought leadership within the energy community. We work toward a clean, reliable, equitable and cost-efficient energy future. RAP provides clarity, vision and new ideas ready to implement to decision-makers and the broader energy community. We leverage synergies and creativity across our regional programs (Europe, China, India and the United States) to develop and share global best practices tailored to local priorities, acting as a trusted advisor. Our approach includes: thought leadership, technical assistance, capacity building, outreach and consensus building. RAP key initiatives include: decarbonize the grid, electrification of buildings and transportation, distributed energy resources, reduce emissions from fossil fuels and design a clean energy future. With offices in Brussels and Berlin and staff based in Belgium, Germany, France, Hungary, the Netherlands and in the United Kingdom, RAP’s Europe team has built effective relationships with numerous EU agencies, NGOs and institutes, and is often sought out for advice on complex energy and regulatory issues. RAP is also a partner in a number of Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe and LIFE Programme projects on energy efficiency, innovative energy storage technologies, the Energy Efficiency First principle and consumers action in the energy market.
