What is ENLIT
Enlit Europe 2024 was a major event focused on the energy sector, bringing together experts and stakeholders to discuss and showcase the latest innovations and trends in power generation, hydrogen, eMobility, grids, and digitalisation. 15000 energy experts in 200 sessions across 12 stages, discussed on industrial decarbonisation, advancements in smart metering, and the integration of sustainable transport into the grid.
What happened in the booth
The EU Projects Zone at Enlit Europe 2024 was a dedicated area where EU-funded energy projects were showcased. This zone provided a platform for these projects to present their research, findings, and innovations to a broad audience, including industry experts, policymakers, and other stakeholders.
META BUILD along with other EU projects in their shared booth; EVELIXIA, WeForming, ENERGATE, AGiSTIN, HEDGE-IoT, and i-STENTORE had the chance to showcase their projects and discuss their findings with participants across the world.
Mention to WEFORMING
The booth had a great attendance and eventually turned into a hub for synergies exploration and talks for future collaborations between projects and organisations. Such future actions were discussed with the coordinators of WeForming, where, after their successful introduction during META BUILD’s recent plenary meeting, the two projects are planning their next steps ahead for mutual initiatives.
Smart building session participation
During the last day of the event, Alexios Lekidis, project manager from the coordination team of ICCS, participated in the Smart Buildings session were Innovation experts from the META BUILD, EVELIXIA, WeForming, ENERGATE, SRI-ENACT and SRI2MARKET projects had the chance to hold a fruitful discussion on the future of energy-efficient smart buildings. By focusing on smart infrastructure, e.g. innovative technologies, intelligent systems, and sustainable solutions, the industry has the ability to reshape the capability levels for energy magement and performance optimisation, while the occupant comfort and environmental impact are being further enhanced.
META BUILD featured on ENLIT platform
META BUILD is currently showcased on the ENLIT platform, within the section dedicated to innovative projects driving the energy transition. The article, titled “Transforming Europe’s building sector: META BUILD’s role in decarbonisation and the energy transition” (published on 22 May 2025), highlights how the project is addressing the challenge of decarbonising Europe’s building stock through electrification, digitalisation, and real-world demonstrations.
