The Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) is a non-profit Academic Research Foundation, which was founded in 1989 by the Ministry of Education. Scientific research at ICCS is organized within many cross-cutting thematic research areas such as AI and Smart Systems, Hardware and Software, Computer networks, Mobile Communications, Control and Automation, Power Production, Transport and Distribution, Energy, Transport, Climate, Biomedical and Biomechanics, Information Systems, Management and Decision Support, Photonics. At the ICCS, we conduct interdisciplinary computing research that is advancing scientific discovery and driving engineering innovation.
ICCS will participate in META BUILT project through the Decision Support Systems Lab / Energy Policy Unit (EPU - NTUA). The Decision Support Systems Lab is a multidisciplinary scientific unit that provides academic training, carries out research and development projects, and provides management and decision support services across a wide range of complex business, socio-technical, and energy & climate policy/planning problems.
The Laboratory operates within the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), the oldest, most prestigious and most competitive academic institute in Greece. It comprises faculty members, senior experts, PhD and Master holders, PhD candidates and researchers.
The Laboratory has been established in 1980 and since then, it is growing constantly, expanding its spectrum of activities and its geographical target areas. Today, more than 100 highly qualified researchers and experts are members and close collaborators in the lab, ready to offer scientific services.
